Rock Your Soul by Elisa

A Song For The Soul

I’ve been on an acoustic kick lately. Absorbed in lyrics and melodies. Something simple to focus on when life bombards me with more than I can process. This playlist is mostly acoustic. Great lyrical tunes. Spent a lot of time singing the past few days. Playing around on the piano again and losing myself in the songs.

As simple as it should be

To the boy who makes me smile more times in a day than I could possibly count. Who likes the unfiltered side and pushes me not to self edit. The one who makes me laugh until my eyes water and encourages me to babble and is still there when I think I’ve said too much.  The one who agrees that trust, honesty and integrity reign supreme and doesn’t hold back on what he thinks or what he feels. Who thinks as deeply and as often as I do, can chat for the entire night and not run out of things to say, loves cars and road trips and is bored silly of vanilla. Who says tats and piercings rock, confidence is sexy and so are fuck me boots.  Sometimes the best things in life happen when you’re not looking for them and you least expect it. Here’s to keeping it simple, going with what works, things that feel natural and right and enjoying how easy it is. xxoo

As Simple As It Should Be – Tristan Prettyman

Put your hands to my hands…
Put your knees to my knees…
Put your eyes to my eyes…
Come on, baby, compliment me
Cos I don’t think that we,
Should ever feel the need to worry,
Ever get ourselves in a hurry,
You know I love you,
I know you love me..
So time will go,
And we may be far apart, I know..
But as far as I can see,
This is so good,
There’s no need for change,
It’s all right with me…
It’s as simple as it should be…
Simple as it should be…

And this love will build
Through flights and streets…
In the end, I predict,
You will get the very best of me
So put your lips to my lips…
Wanna go on and take all of it
Just to run as fast as you can…
Cos you can

The Luckiest ~ Ben Folds Five

Enjoying the journey…

I don’t get many things right the first time
In fact, I am told that a lot
Now I know all the wrong turns, the stumbles and falls
Brought me here
And where was I before the day
That I first saw your lovely face?
Now I see it everyday
And I know
That I am
The luckiest

What if I’d been born fifty years before you
In a house on the street where you live?
Maybe I’d be outside as you passed on your bike
Would I know?
And in a wide sea of eyes
I see one pair that I recognize
And I know
That I am
The luckiest

I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you
Next door there’s an old man who lived to his nineties
And one day passed away in his sleep
His wife, she stayed for a couple of days
And passed away
I’m sorry, I know that’s a
strange way to tell you that I know
we belong
That I know
That I am
The luckiest

Every Little Kiss ~ Bruce Hornsby and the Range

Way out here, working on the docks
Everyone sees the long day through
Now what would I do without the nights and the phone
And the chance just to talk to you
Oh, what would I do now
Hey, just to talk to you, a thousand miles away, hey hey
What I wouldn’t give for only one night
A little relief in sight
Someday when times weren’t so tight

When the day goes down on water town
When the sun sinks low all around
That’s when I know I need you now
Yes you’re what I miss, every little kiss
Every little one

Everybody here’s a number, not a name
But I guess it’s alright with me
As I stood alone, after a long day
In the absense of company
Oh, I let my mind wander
A thousand miles away hey hey
What I wouldn’t give for only one night
A little relief in sight
Someday when times weren’t so tight

When the day goes down on water town
When the sun sinks low all around
That’s when I know I need you now
Yes you’re what I miss, every little kiss
Every little one

What I wouldn’t give for only one night
A little relief in sight
Someday when times weren’t so tight
When the day goes down on water town
When the sun sinks low all around
That’s when I know I need you now
Yes you’re what I miss, every little kiss
Every little one

The Fear of the Future

Sometimes you have to have faith in the idea that things will happen as they should and in their own time. When it appears as if something good is headed your way, don’t waste your energy on wondering when the other proverbial shoe will drop. Instead, sit back, and enjoy the ride. Whatever happens, it is guaranteed that there will be a valuable lesson given to you somewhere along the way. Just clearing my head. It’s full of thoughts today. ~*~
